Bley, Gruss, Eduardo and guest Jason Chillemi build the ultimate heist movie in a fantasy draft, picking the key people and ingredients they think would make the perfect crime caper.
Bley Recommends
Is God Is
Scarred twin sisters hit the road to carry out their dying mother’s final request: find their father and kill him. A strange, funny and extremely violent revenge movie that goes places you will not expect. (Movie / Prime Video)
Get Out
Jordan Peele takes the already terrifying experience of meeting your girlfriend’s parents and turns it into something much, much worse. Funny, smart and one of the best horror movies of the last decade. (Movie / Peacock)
Knives Out
Daniel Craig investigates a murder inside an extremely rich, extremely dysfunctional family. A great mystery, a ridiculous cast and one of the easiest recommendations on this list. (Movie / Lionsgate+ or Rent/Buy)
The Americans
Two suburban parents are secretly Soviet spies living undercover in 1980s America, while their kids have absolutely no idea. Somehow a spy thriller, a marriage drama and a family show all at once. (TV Show / Hulu)
Gruss Recommends
Lioness
Zoë Saldaña runs a covert CIA program that puts female operatives dangerously close to high-value targets. Taylor Sheridan doing spies, basically. Gruss is all in. (TV Show / Paramount+)
Reacher
A gigantic, hyper-competent former military investigator wanders into trouble and then methodically destroys everyone responsible. Sometimes television does not need to be complicated. (TV Show / Prime Video)
Eduardo Recommends
The X-Files
Mulder believes. Scully does not. Together they investigate aliens, monsters and government conspiracies for an absurd number of episodes. There is a reason people are still talking about it. (TV Show / Hulu)
Jason Chillemi Recommends
The Game
David Fincher drops Michael Douglas into an elaborate psychological nightmare where he—and you—slowly lose track of what is real. If you have somehow avoided knowing anything about it, keep it that way and just watch it. (Movie / Rent/Buy on Apple TV, Amazon or Fandango at Home)
Se7en
Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman hunt a serial killer building his murders around the seven deadly sins. Fincher at his bleakest, and still one of the best serial-killer thrillers ever made. (Movie / Paramount+)
